Air Conditioning FAQs
JS Cooling is a Leicestershire based company that provides cooling services to a variety of domestic and commercial customers, and we receive a number of frequently asked questions from those. This FAQs section answers these questions.
What is the purpose of an air conditioning system?
An air conditioning system is intended to supply and distribute cooled (and, in some cases, heated) air throughout a room or structure. Filters are used in modern equipment to remove particulates from the air, and the cooling process also helps to dehumidify it. Air conditioning can improve air quality, creating a more comfortable environment for building occupants and ensuring the smooth operation of sensitive equipment.
Do air conditioners provide both cooling and heating?
Heat pumps, which are common in modern units, provide heating in addition to cooling. When compared to other types of heating systems, this is frequently the most cost-effective option.
Why does JS Cooling Services employ products from various manufacturers?
Because we are an independent company, we are able to select equipment that is both energy-efficient and environmentally responsible. We supply equipment from world-class manufacturers, allowing us to offer our customers a diverse range of options for use in a variety of air conditioning applications. Our contracts also include life-cycle repairs and maintenance, which means we only install equipment manufactured by the highest-quality suppliers with proven track records.
Is it expensive to run air conditioning?
One of the most common misconceptions about air conditioning is that it is expensive to operate. Although costs vary greatly from installation to installation and are dependent on a variety of factors such as the unit's running time and the heating and cooling loads, air conditioning is generally very cost effective. Please contact us today for more information on operating costs.
Will you service any type of air conditioning system?
JS Cooling will maintain and repair air conditioning systems from any manufacturer. We frequently repair air conditioning systems that we did not install and take over the repair and maintenance of systems that have been in place for a long time. During the initial maintenance visit, we will assess your current air conditioning system and make recommendations if any replacements or repairs are required.
Can I make changes to or cancel the planned maintenance contract while it is still in effect?
You may change or cancel your planned maintenance contract with us at any time. Please give us at least three months' notice in writing. However, any overriding or special provisions in the contract will remain in effect.
Which areas do you service?
JS Cooling has successfully served the Leicestershire and wider UK area for many years.
What exactly is an AC inspection?
It is recommended that n AC system with a capacity greater than 12kW must now be inspected once every five years. The system's owners (or those who control it) are responsible for scheduling these inspections to ensure that the system is operating efficiently and correctly, and that it is fit for its intended use. JS Cooling can advise customers on when inspections should be performed and can also arrange for inspections to be taken place.
What is the environmental impact of air conditioning?
JS Cooling is committed to providing our clients with cutting-edge environmentally responsible equipment. We only install systems that use non-ozone-depleting refrigerants.
Depending on the application of the equipment we usually recommend at least two maintenance visits per year. We may recommend more frequent visits in high pollutant, high use, and high dependency environments to ensure that the equipment operates reliably and effectively at all times.
How frequently should I have my air conditioner serviced?
Domestic cooling units that are not in constant use typically require only one service per year. Office units should be serviced at least twice a year to keep them running at peak performance. We are more than happy to give you a more bespoke recommendation on service frequency, dependant on your commercial building use and requirements.
Why should I have my air conditioner serviced?
Regular servicing and maintenance keep your unit running at peak efficiency, significantly extending its lifetime, and lowering operating costs.
